Your Wednesday boost are recurrent mindfulness sessions for researchers and spouses at AU to improve and boost your wellbeing, in collaboration with the Danish Center for Mindfulness.

The series

Your Wednesday Boost is a weekly initiative the University International Club has carefully prepared for international and Danish researchers at AU, and their accompanying partners. We aim at improving and boosting your wellbeing through online and physical sessions facilitated by the Danish Center of Mindfulness

Wellbeing Practice 

The days we are living, and the months we have left behind, have been challenging times for us all. Join our online wellbeing practice, where you will learn various practices that will help you lower your stressboost your resilience and improve your overall wellbeing during these challenging times. 

Practicalities:

  • The meeting occurs online every other Wednesday from 16.00 to 17.00. 
  • The event is free to attend, but registration is mandatory. You will receive the link before the event. 
  • You are welcome to attend all the meetings or just some of them. You work on your wellbeing at your own pace. 
  • This meeting will be recorded so it can be streamed to those who couldn't make it. 

Train Your Mind

These tailored-made physical sessions at AU aim at providing international and Danish researchers with tools and the skills to boost their performance. Topics will include stress reduction, motivation, concentration, and awareness.

Practicalities:

  • The session takes place at the Student House every other Wednesday from 8.30 to 10.00. Please note different event have different locations inside the Student House. 
  • The event is free to attend, but registration is mandatory. There are limited seats to comply with the current COVID restrictions.  
  • We invite you to join the Wellbeing Practice online meetings, as they are a great source to follow up with what you have learned during the Train your Brain sessions. 
  • You do not need special training or skills to participate. Further practical information is sent occasionally before the sessions.
  • Accompanying partners / spouses are welcome to attend the sessions.

The Facilitator

The participants of this meeting will learn the different practices from the MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) and yoga facilitator, Camilla Marcinkiwski, from the Danish Center for Mindfulness at AU Health.

Camilla, is an international teacher who has lived and studied in North America for many years, today teaching mindfulness and mental-training to businesses, athletes, students and the general public in Denmark.

The UIC has partnered with the Danish Center for Mindfulness to create this offer at AU. This is a research centre at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University carrying out research and education of teachers in mindfulness-based applications for many different people and patient groups.
